Being friended by a fake on fb may not be all that worrisome as a friendlist grows to include those of very little personal relation. It depends on why you have a facebook page to begin with. I know several people who want to be personally social (talk football, kids, pets etc…) yet also intend to promote their business services and causes their passionate about. These folks view their friendlist as the more the marrier (wider audience and potential clients, and or blog readers).

I’d be interested to read the various uses of a fake facebook accounts – to sorta understand the aims and intents of individuals who do such. I think a listing of the possible motives may ring an alarm bell to a broader audience. A statement of personal information falling into the wrong hands for anyone participating in a social network is becoming increasingly oxymoronic in this day and age.

If anyone was really concerned about privacy then participating in a world wide socially interconnected platform may not be the place for them.

    I appreciate your blog.
